We got a question today that I have never really thought much about. It is almost embarrassing to say that, though, considering I own a company that has been selling door chimes and doorbells for over 14 years. Of course, I know the answer, but after all these years, no one has really ever asked me that question…funny.
If you do a search for “wiki door chime” you are directed to the Wiki page for Doorbells. If you search online for “door chimes” you will get websites like ours, that uses the two interchangeably. A Chime is a musical instrument that produces a sound, tone, melody, etc. usually through the use of bells. So a door chime would really be a chime sound products by a chime instrument that’s a door. A doorbell would be a simple bell at a door used to signal someone at the door.
Dimango.com carries a large assortment of door chimes that are wired door chimes or wireless door chimes. We usually refer to door chimes as our “doorbells” the will product some sort of musical melody versus a simply strike of a bell.
